Creating a video Presentation?
The one thing that you MUST remember is that information is king!
What we mean by information is king is that no one creates a video presentation unless they have some vital information to share.
In some videos, music is the star; in others, it's an even balance, but for a presentation, the music should very much play second fiddle to content.
What Should You Look for in Video Presentation Background Music?
Despite playing second fiddle to content, music for a keynote presentation is essential and can be very powerful.
It should act as a vehicle to carry the information in the right direction without being intrusive.
Whether the presentation is designed to motivate staff or propose an idea, the music should be motivational and uplifting.
It has to help convince the audience that what they are seeing is an attainable goal, get this right, and it will drive home your message with confidence.
It should instill confidence in a clear plan or objective and motivate to get the job done without the audience even realizing - this is true whether the presentation is project-based or sales based.
Instrumental tracks with an average tempo work best; anything too slow will seem dull, and too fast will be a distraction.
Perfect music for a presentation video should evoke emotion without being too memorable.
Here are a few things you should NEVER do.
- Choose music just because you think it sounds good - if you think it's a cool song, so might your audience; cooler than your presentation.
- Choose music with vocals while there's text on the screen - viewers might be too busy listening to the lyrics to read the information.
- Choose music that is too overbearing - music cannot become the most prominent feature.
What we are saying is you should avoid anything that could be a distraction from the core message of your presentation.
Adding Music to Your PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint is the most commonly used video presentation platform, so we'll start there with how to add music that plays throughout the presentation.
- With the desired slide selected, click the Insert Audio tab at the top of your screen.
- Choose the Audio From File option to choose the correct audio file from your computer.
- Use the Audio Format tab to select the playing options that you want for your music.
For example, when your track starts and ends.
For more information on adding music, check out this Microsoft PowerPoint guide.
It doesn't matter if you use PowerPoint or need music for Prezi, whatever the platform, Audio Buzz has the right background music for your presentation.
