Mat Creedon is a Melbourne Australia based Producer/Artist
Mat Creedon sounds like a new kind of pop.... a "Strange pop"
The perfect mix of quirky and cool, alluringly understated. A dazzling blend of Pavement's twisted pop sensibilities with Beck's swagger & the sexiness of Tame Impala.
If you need a visual, think teddy bear with a switchblade.
Mat Creedon's sound is without doubt a special new kind of pop. Familiar enough to suck you in and interesting enough to keep you, well... interested
Synth rock track with a futuristic theme. Slightly kitsch in its sci-fi elements, like an early 80s B-movie, it's a mid paced song built on a steady beat and lots of synth texture, from gritty saw bass to sweeping filtered leads. Male vocals and harmonies add to the fun, luring you into its trippy, hypnotic web of retro space age flash.
Exotic Indian and Arabian influences dominate this instrumental track, based around a melodic sitar theme. An exuberant posse of percussion, from hand drums to cymbals, provides the perfect backdrop to this feast of flavours from the Orient, creating a magical and mystical aura to transport you to another culture. Not entirely rooted in traditional music, it adds an electric bass to give a taste of more modern desert blues, and lift the vibe to an upbeat, liberated slice of the East.
Lightweight indie pop song. Arpeggiated acoustic guitar and synth textures combine with a raw rock beat to form the backing for the passionate male vocals, hypnotically cycling towards an effect laden electric guitar section. Like a soul laid bare, the song reflects an honest and open expression of love and desire, with a psychedelic and free undertone.
Dreamy, spaced out indie ballad. Unhurried and intimate, the soulful vocals float over a lazy backing of drums, bass, guitar and theremin to form a hypnotic and repetetive experience. Super chilled and easy going, with smooth, intimate vocal harmonies and melodies, it's one to take your time with on your long journey into outer space.
Hyped up, hook ridden song to test your energy levels. Short and sweet, you sense the playful vibe from the start with kiddish vocals, fuzz guitar and a raw rock rhythm. Lots of noise, lots of speed, lots of fun ........... and a manic disposition.
Dreamy indie track with a surprise. A vibraphone intro sets the spacey tone, continued by lazy vocals, tremolo guitar and piano backed by a steady beat. Background harmonies float in to build the atmosphere as the track evolves into an unexpected epic wall of sound - big distorted guitars, huge bass, pounding drums ....... before returning to the more serene state we had settled into. Dreamy and hypnotic - for the most part. Be warned!
